Full colour wrap, car
from AED 2,000
Every painted panel in gloss, satin or matte cast vinyl, fitted in 3-5 working days
A vinyl wrap gives your car a new colour in a few days, protects the factory paint and peels off cleanly when you sell. We fit it, and we walk you through the Dubai Police permission and the Mulkiya update.
Rules checked November 2026 against Dubai Police and RTA sources
At a glance
To change a car's colour in Dubai with a wrap, you need Dubai Police permission before fitting when the new colour covers more than half the body, then a Mulkiya update. The police fee is about AED 120, and driving a colour that does not match the Mulkiya can be fined. A full colour wrap at Printajo starts from AED 2,000 and takes 3-5 working days.
Wrap or respray
Most people who ask us for a colour change want one of three things: a colour the dealer did not offer, a matte or satin look, or to hide a tired paint job without the cost of a full respray. A wrap does all three in a few working days.
Because the factory paint stays under the film, the car keeps its original colour on paper once the wrap is removed. On a car you plan to sell in a few years, that matters more than any finish.
We fit only cast film from 3M, Avery Dennison, Hexis, Arlon, Mactac and Orafol. In a Dubai summer, cheaper film shrinks back from the edges and door shuts within months, and that is the part buyers notice first.

Finishes
The same colour reads very differently in gloss, satin and matte. We bring samples to the car, outside, so you see them in real light and not under the showroom lamps.
Closest to paint
Looks like a fresh factory finish and is the easiest to keep clean. The safe choice for a daily car.
Most asked for
A soft sheen that shows the body lines without the mirror reflections. It hides small marks better than gloss.
Boldest
Flat, modern and striking on dark colours. It needs gentler washing, so we hand you care instructions with the car.
Doing it legally
The order matters. Fit first and ask later, and you can be fined for driving a colour that is not on your Mulkiya.

Does it count
The rule of thumb is simple: if someone would describe your car as a different colour, treat it as a colour change.
Prices
Starting prices for the film and fitting. The Dubai Police fee is separate and paid to the authority. You get the final figure in writing before we start.

Prices depend on the car's size, the film and how much of the door shuts are covered. SUVs and coupes with complex bumpers cost more. See car branding for business wraps with logos.
Living with it
A wrap lasts about 3-5 years here if it is looked after. These four habits make the biggest difference.
Brush car washes scratch soft film and lift edges. A hand wash with mild soap is best.
Parking in shade or under a cover slows fading, especially on dark and matte colours.
Keep the nozzle away from seams and corners, where water can get under the film.
Small lifts are quick to fix under our warranty. Left alone, they collect dust and spread.
FAQs
Yes, when the new colour covers more than half of the body. Apply for Dubai Police (CID) permission before the wrap is fitted, then update the colour on your Mulkiya. Accents such as a black roof or mirrors usually do not count, because the main colour stays the same.
The car no longer matches its Mulkiya, so it can be fined and held up at inspection or registration renewal until the paperwork is fixed. Gulf News reports an AED 800 fine in Abu Dhabi; check the current Dubai amount with Dubai Police. Getting permission first costs about AED 120.
Often, yes, for a good-quality finish, and it is reversible. A full colour wrap starts from AED 2,000 at Printajo. Unlike a respray, the original paint stays protected underneath, which helps when you sell the car.
Not on healthy factory paint. Fitted and removed properly, cast film comes off cleanly and the paint underneath is usually in better shape than the exposed parts of the car. Resprayed or chipped panels are the exception, so we check the paint before quoting.
Usually, but ask your leasing company first, because the car is registered to them and they handle the Mulkiya. Most agree to a wrap because it protects the paint and is removed before the car goes back.
Light and mid-tone gloss colours hold up best. Dark matte films show heat and wash marks sooner, and need gentler care. Whichever you choose, we fit cast vinyl rated for outdoor use, which lasts about 3-5 years here.
